Mallory Park has been approved by the Driving Standards Agency for the purpose of compulsory basic training for learners.
With the introduction of the new European Community Directive on motorcycle training on January 1st 1997, it is necessary to provide all new riders with the best possible environment in which to learn how to handle a large capacity machine before continuing their training on public roads.
Previously, learners could pass their test on a 125cc machine and next day ride away on Yamaha YZF R1, Honda Fireblade or any other large capacity bike.
To further enhance the safety of motorcycling in this country, Mallory Park has opened their doors to anyone ( above the age of 21 ), to take advantage of our world famous facilities, which will help you achieve not only your test pass, but also some of the more advanced techniques required for safer, more enjoyable motorcycling.
The circuit provides a much safer environment for pupils to learn how to handle a 500cc/600cc machine before encountering public roads. Extensive facilities include:- Roundabouts, junctions and gradients Massive training areas Variety of surface conditions Video Analysis Use of race track Alternative schools use either small public car parks or school playgrounds which make it difficult to get out of second gear or above 25 mph.
Mallory Park is the ideal environment for people to learn under safer conditions in a controlled professional environment. In the exciting atmosphere of Mallory Park, we aim to make this a time to remember for everyone taking to two wheels
